This collection consists of the initial reports and working papers used in the creation of the WPA guide to Virginia. The papers in this collection were retained by Mr. Norfleet is his capacity as a local director of the WPA. They concern the early history of Virginia, biographies of 17th century Virginians, Virginia transportation, and local histories, especially of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Henrico County, and Princess Anne County, Virginia.
